WHAT ARE THE AGES ALLOWED FOR COMPETITION?
Our Miss contestants must be between the ages of 18 and 27 on or before the state pageant date and our Teen contestants must be between the ages of 14 and 17 on or before the state pageant date.
HOW MUCH DOES THE STATE COMPETITION COST?
MNUS boasts some of the lowest entry fees in the industry! For each of the state pageants for both age groups, the total cost of entry is $350. This includes a non-refundable $50 registration fee that must be paid at the time of submitting your application, but it will be credited towards your total entry fee. However, once your registration fee is paid, you are an official contestant in your state pageant!
WHAT DOES MY ENTRY FEE INCLUDE?
Your entry fee covers your participation in all ares of competition, competition sash, half-page ad in the state program book, production and administrative costs, complimentary program book, designated meal options and all necessary competition materials provided by MNUS. It does not cover however your hotel, travel and required competition wardrobe. You are not required to stay at the state pageant host hotel, but they will be offering a great, low rate for delegates, friends and family.
WHAT ARE THE AREAS OF COMPETITION?
There are three ares of competition: personal interview, swimsuit/fitness and evening gown. Participating delegates will receive more information on scoring and what’s expecting in each portion of competition in their delegate handbooks upon registering for their state pageant.
WHAT DO THE STATE PRELIMINARY WINNERS RECEIVE?
- A custom made state crown and sash
- Paid entry into the 2012 Miss National US and Miss Teen National US pageant which will be held next August in Orlando, Florida
- Professional crown shots
- $1,000 cash scholarship (*Minimum of 25 contestants in combined Miss and Teen age groups or scholarship will be prorated)
- And much, much more!
WHAT IF THERE ISN’T A PRELIMINARY PAGEANT IN MY STATE? WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO COMPETE ‘AT-LARGE?’
As an at-large delegate, that means you did not have to compete in a state preliminary competition, but instead went through an application process to be appointed your title. It also means you are solely responsible for fulfilling your requirements of a state delegate. This includes but it not limited to paying your full, national entry fee; acquiring all required competition wardrobe; coordinating your travel to and from the host city of the national pageant; adhering to all rules and regulations of a state titleholder that may include community service hours requirements, fundraising for community partners, etc.
